The Galaxy pendant lamp is a fascinating design piece created by Charles and Ray Eames for the 1949 exhibition "An Exhibition for Modern Living" at the Detroit Institute of Arts, but was never brought to market due to the technological limitations of the industry at the time. The lamp consists of a central sphere on which 36 tubes of different lengths are mounted, each tube equipped with its own LED bulb. This makes it possible to recreate the starry sky and creates an impressive lighting atmosphere. Cassina has modernized the original design by adding a plug-and-play system that makes it easier to insert the tubes into the sphere.
