The Kangaroo armchair by Cassina is a tribute to the Swiss architect and furniture designer Pierre Jeanneret. The design was created between 1958 and 1959 when Jeanneret and his cousin Le Courbusier worked on numerous projects in the Indian city of Chandigarh. Pierre Jeanneret was largely responsible for the interior design and, above all, the chair design. The Kangaroo armchair was part of the private homes. The teak furniture was produced on site by local carpenters. In 2019, Cassina reissued some of Pierre Jeanneret's Chandigarh furniture designs, including the impressive Kangaroo armchair.
