The GUBI Satellite pendant lamp was designed by the French designer Mathieu Matégot in 1953. Matégot chose the name Satellite as a tribute to scientific progress. The GUBI Satellite pendant lamp gets its characteristic shape through the use of a special technique that the designer himself developed for a series of designs. The technique is based on the use of a particularly delicate perforated sheet, the so-called Rigitulle. Thanks to its flexible structure, the fine material can be shaped into original objects such as bowls or lampshades.
Completely covered in Rigitulle, the lamp casts an atmospheric light on its surroundings. The shadow created by the fine perforation is an eye-catcher in entrance halls, hallways or dining rooms. Hang the GUBI Satellite pendant light as a single piece or combine several pieces to create a delicate cloud of light.

The GUBI Satellite pendant light is made of powder-coated steel. The lampshade is made of perforated metal sheet in the shape of an oval ball and a triangular cover. The light is available in two sizes.
