The GUBI MR01 Initial lounge chair offers the highest level of seating comfort. It was designed by Mathias Steen Rasmussen with the aim of creating a chair for meditation. Rasmussen's combination of wood and rope creates a simple, flexible chair that both gives a feeling of floating and creates a connection with the ground.
The open triangular frame fulfils its function without a single screw. The seat and backrest are hand-woven and are made from a 90-metre-long cord made of natural linen. This construction gives the design a lightness and at the same time offers good air circulation in the warm summer months. With a blanket or sheepskin, the chair is also comfortable in winter.
