Combining timeless forms and perfect functionality was the guiding principle of the American designer George Nelson. His Bubble Lamp Ball demonstrates this principle par excellence and has long since taken its place in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Bubble Lamp series, a true icon of mid-century modern design, was designed by George Nelson in 1947 and is in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. Innovative, taut plastic encases a stainless steel frame, preventing glare and providing generous but gently diffused light. Each lamp is handcrafted according to George Nelson's original specifications.

Fine steel struts form the basis for a perfect sphere. The plastic material that surrounds them prevents glare and emits the light evenly in all directions. The result is a warmly glowing spherical lamp that can find its place in almost any living environment. The Bubble Lamp Ball is available as a floor lamp, hanging lamp, table lamp and wall lamp and in different sizes. In combination with other models from the Bubble series, varied lighting structures are created.
Stainless steel frame covered with elastic, rough plastic film (plastic polymer).
