The CIVIl BENCH bench by Cassina is a tribute to the Swiss architect and furniture designer Pierre Jeanneret. The design was created between 1958 and 1959 when Jeanneret worked on numerous projects in the Indian city of Chandigarh together with his famous cousin Le Courbusier. Pierre Jeanneret was largely responsible for the interior design and especially the chair design. A special compositional scheme that can be found in other furnishings from the Chandigarh period is the "V"-shaped support.
